A Technology Professional. A Maternal Health Champion.

I am Sharon Teburg — of Cameroonian origin, based in the United States, and living at the intersection of two powerful callings. By profession I am an Azure Database Administrator. By purpose, I am a maternal mental health advocate and the founder of Thriving Mama.

I believe these two worlds are not in conflict — they make me stronger in both. The discipline I bring to technology sharpens my advocacy. The empathy I bring to motherhood makes me a better leader.

Breaking the Silence Around Maternal Mental Health in Africa

Thriving Mama exists to transform how African mothers experience postpartum care — through education, community, and unapologetic advocacy.

💬

Break the Stigma

Creating safe spaces where African mothers can speak openly about their mental health — without shame, judgment, or silence.

📚

Educate & Empower

Equipping mothers, midwives, and communities with the knowledge to recognize, name, and respond to maternal mental health conditions.

🤝

Build Community

No mother should walk the postpartum journey alone. We build peer support networks that remind every mother — you are seen, heard, and valued.

Pain Became Purpose

My advocacy was not planned. It was forged.

After childbirth, I experienced severe postpartum mental health challenges — emotional distress, confusion, and a profound isolation that no one around me had language for. As a woman of Cameroonian origin, I quickly realized there was no framework for what I was experiencing in my community. No safe space. Just silence and stigma.

"I realized that many African women suffer in silence — not because they are weak, but because the awareness, language, and support simply do not exist for them."

My recovery became my turning point. I made a decision to transform my pain into purpose — to speak up, create safe spaces, and advocate for the mothers who are still suffering alone right now.

That decision became Thriving Mama. And this work is far from over.
